How are you, my friend? I’m sending you some Friday love.
Are you ready for a small celebration moment?
This one is brought to you courtesy of one of your fellow Simply Celebrate kindred spirits, Virginia Reeves, who emailed me the quote I am sharing with you.
I was lucky enough to get to meet Virginia last year when I was speaking in Oregon! She has the best and brightest smile and I think of her joy right now, as I share what she shared with me.

Virginia sent me an email earlier this week, saying, “I know you like Ram Dass.” (I always quote him when I say to you, “We are all just walking each other home.”)
She then shared a beautiful quote she had found online. I loved it and asked her if I could share with YOU!
She said, “yes.” And here we are.
Ready?

βWhen you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees.
And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didnβt get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you donβt get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree.
The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying βYou are too this, or Iβm too this.β That judgment mind comes in. And so, I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.β
β Ram Dass

I found this to be such a beautiful guidance.
Can we accept one another β and ourselves! β exactly as we are?
Think about how beautiful all the different trees are. We are, too!
Today, let’s celebrate the parts of us who survived the wind and the lack of light and the sometimes-harsh conditions.
Let’s celebrate the part of ourselves that reached for the sky, no matter what.
And let’s celebrate that in every person we pass.

Thanks for being here today and participating in this wisdom of Ram Dass with me and with lovely Virginia!
I am grateful that you and I share the values of family, friends, meaningful experiences, and simple moments of celebration.
I am grateful that we share ideas for loving more fully and for coming back home to our hearts, day after day.
Wherever you are in the world, whatever you are doing when you are reading this, will you do me a favor?
Will you pause to appreciate yourself for being a good-hearted, loving person?
Will you appreciate whatever kind of “tree” you are?
Thanks for who you are.
Thanks for being by my side.
Seek celebration β even in the dark corners,
xo Sherry
