Hey, Delightful You,
Hello on a Friday afternoon. You are on my mind!
Why? Because I love sharing tiny moments of joy with you.
I think you will like this one. (And maybe you can relate!?)

This morning I was at a wonderful outdoor Zumba class hosted by a local recreation center.
During a quick water break, I ran into the building to use the restroom.
It was pitch dark in there!
The lights in there are automatic. I know this because I’ve used these restrooms before.
Still, as I walked into the dark, I felt my stomach clench and I got a little spooked and nervous.
What if the lights don’t come on?
I could feel myself slip into that persona of the very small and/or very depressed Sherry self.
After all, I’ve fallen into the metaphorical dark pit many times. This enveloping darkness felt like it could be that. (Even though my logical brain tried to reassure me!)
Of course, in an instant, all the lights did come on. (Of course.)
And, when they did, I smiled and thought, “This is how it happens time and time again!
I get swept away into the fear of the darkness and think I will never see light again. Then, POP, somehow everything around me is lit up.
I loved this reassurance from life that even when we feel a little lost in the dark, we will find the light.
Even though I practice joy and I KNOW pinpricks of light are all around me, I still can get locked into dark rooms.
It really helps when I can remember (and be reminded) that inevitable, the lights will come back on. They will.
I hope you see that and trust that for yourself. Do you?

Sure, that is a rather silly metaphor of the restroom light. And yet, it can be a beautiful reminder.
It was for me.
It was my celebration moment today!

If you are feeling a little lost in the dark, can you journal about another time in your life when you were in that same place and the light found you again? It can help to remember that “all things will come and pass.”
If you are feeling quite light-filled, can you try to think of someone in your life who may need you to brighten their day? Please reach out in some small way to be a candle or a pinprick of light for them.

Thank you for being here and sharing in the celebration of life.
ALL of life. Even the hard stuff.
We can do hard things.
Seek celebration — even in the dark corners,
xo Sherry
