Hello, friend. Sending hugs today!

So much of my work is about how we all learn to love better and how we can celebrate people in our lives even more

Valentine’s Day is coming up in just a few weeks and it is a great time to transform that Hallmark holiday β€” usually focused on romance β€” into a day that we can appreciate all the amazing people in our life.

This is one way we can learn to love better β€” by making holidays more inclusive.

Think about it, if you know someone who is grieving, divorced, or alone, Valentine’s Day might be extra difficult. However, we can use the occasion to send some extra boosts of love!

Here’s another way to reframe this holiday:

Over the last number of years, thanks to Parks and Recreation fictional character Leslie Knope, many people have started celebrating Galentine’s Day β€” a time to appreciate and offer extra love to the favorite females in our lives.

I’m all in. The more celebration, the better!

Let’s appreciate our gal pals. Let’s show them how much they mean to us.

Will you join me Thursday, February 8th, for a free, live mini-workshop making LOVE LISTS for the Galentines (Or any Valentines) in your life?

This event is hosted by the Women’s National Book Association San Francisco Chapter. It is a lunch-n-learn, running 12n-1pm PT.

A LOVE LIST is a brainstorm of all the reasons you love someone and what makes them unique.

A LOVE LIST is sweet, funny, sexy, or serious. It can include any number β€” from five to fifteen to fifty β€” of loving attributes, characteristics, or memories about someone.

The LOVE LIST is no-cost and easy to make, yet it leaves a long-lasting and profound impact on both the creator and gift recipient.

You’ve heard me say this many times, but all too often, people wait until funerals to express their love and appreciation. I encourage you to say it now, while the person can hear it.

I believe that what we all want most in life is to know that we make a difference and that we’re loved for exactly who we are.

The LOVE LIST does just that!

And β€” it is really a joyful process to make them. You will see!

This event is sponsored by the WNBA-SF. (Thank you to them!) They are offering it for free, but you must register here to receive information on how to participate

I hope to see you there! It would be wonderful to say hello and to celebrate together.  I promise that our time together will be a JOY!

Seek celebration β€” even in dark corners,

xo Sherry
