Hello wonderful friend.

I send you the comfort of a cup of cocoa — with three mini marshmallows floating on top.

I send you a fat chunk of moon, hanging solidly in the night sky.

I send you friendly wave and a smile as you pass someone wearing a striped scarf on your way to the market.

Today’s LoveGram is called “Finding your own North Star.”

I heard a talk this week about “I am” statements and how we use these kinds of statements to create a path for ourselves to who we want to be and how we want to live.

If we whisper, “I am a peaceful person” to ourselves in the morning, it could be just the reminder we need later in the day when we feel like cursing someone who is driving too slowly in front of us.

If we write on our white board, “I am contented.” Then, later, when we think our house is too small, we might be prompted to think, “Actually, right now I am just happy to have a home that is warm and safe.”

We can use “I am” statements to rewrite some of those yucky voices in our heads that try to convince us that we are lazy or talk too much or awkward or weird.

We can even use these “I am” statements to help us pay attention so that we aren’t squishing down our feelings, swallowing some toxic positivity, or putting up a cardboard version of ourselves.

We can follow that North Star. AND, sometimes we can put up a tent along the way and take a long nap for a few days! It isn’t one or the other.

In today’s audio, I explain more!

Thank you for being here with me.

I know that you are here because you have a big heart for showing up the best you can in life. You also have a big heart for being real and giving yourself permission to be human.

Celebration and sorrow are two sides of the same coin. It’s okay to flip around!

Today’s LoveGram is a chance to think about who you want to be and how you want to live.

It is also permission to sit on the sidelines when necessary.

Sometimes we just gotta breathe deeply and listen to the wisdom inside of us. That’s always our North Star!

Seek celebration — even in dark corners,

xo Sherry
