Happy #SendaCardtoaFriendDay!
I’m popping by very quickly because I have to go to the dentist for a checkup and I really wanted to connect with you before I go.
If you read my recent article (called Letter Perfect) in Kind Over Matter, you’ll know that I am not only jumping on the letter-writing bandwagon, but also grabbing a megaphone and shouting gleefully to anyone who will listen.
We live in a world where so many people feel lonely. I think we crave connection of all kinds. We want to know that we matter.
One of the simplest ways to brighten someone’s day and to let them know you care about them is to send something in the mail that says just that.
Isn’t it wonderful to open your mailbox and see a pretty, handwritten envelope?
Maybe it has a sticker, some colorful washi tape, or a doodle on it?
Maybe all it says is, “I’m thinking about you. I love that you are in my life. You make me happy.”
That’s enough.
That’s everything.
Please do this. Today. Send a card. It is easy. It will make you happy. It will make the recipient happy.
Connect.
Reach out.
Relate.
Express
Show you care.
Love out loud.
We need this.
We need more LOVE, in all forms.
And, today, because it is #SendaCardtoaFriendDay, how ’bout doing just that?
Don’t think about it. Don’t hesitate. Send a card!
P.S. A “card” could be a photo that you found, a scrap of paper, the back of a brown paper bag, a pretty picture from a magazine, whatever!
Seek celebration — even in dark corners,
