Sunday Audio LoveGram: January 3, 2021

Hello, my dear friend.

As we begin 2021, I want to repeat something I said to you last week. (It bears repeating!)

I want you to feel grateful to yourself for who you have been, for how you have loved, for the ways that you have brought comfort and love to people around you.

If you haven’t already done it, THIS is the time for forgiveness for any of the ways you may have let yourself down in the last year. Or EVER.

It’s okay. You are human. You did your best.

This is the time to think of who we want to be moving forward and how we want to live our lives.

This is the time to release old stories that don’t serve us and to write a story that does.

In today’s audio Love Gram (see below) I share a paragraph from a book called “Life is in the Transitions” by Bruce Feiler.

Here’s how it goes:

“We have a choice in how we tell our life story. We do not write it in permanent ink. There are no points for consistency, or even accuracy. We can change it at any time, for any reason, including one as simple as making ourselves feel better. After all, a primary function of our life story is to allow us to place experiences firmly in the past and take from them something beneficial that will allow us to thrive in the future.”

Tell the story that makes you feel better.

WRITE the story you want to live.

Use this brand-new year as a marking point for letting go of what no longer serves you — beliefs about yourself that are mean, small, and untrue.

And if there are ways you want to grow and change, be gentle with yourself. Instead of large, lofty resolutions, begin taking small steps. Make moments count.

I hope you will take the time to listen.

It is my mission in life to support you (and me!!) in living lives that feel alive, vibrant, and filled with love, no matter what is going on around us.

Love is a practice.

Joy is a practice.

Forgiveness is a practice.

Being brave and alive and full of wonder is a practice.

You’ve been by my side this whole pandemic? Thank you. Pause here and think about what a gift you’ve been to me, to others in your life, to yourself.

Never forget that showing up for one another is the biggest gift we can give.

Thanks for being by my side.

I’m here for you, too.

Seek celebration — even in dark corners,

xo Sherry

⭐   P.S. If anything you hear in today’s LoveGram stands out or resonates with you, email me and share your thoughts. I always appreciate hearing from you!

⭐  P.P.S. You may notice that in today’s LoveGram I play you a song I’ve played for you before. I also shared a graphic (up above) I’ve used before. You know why? I like them! I listen to songs and look at photos over and over. I realized that one way to be more myself this year is to not think I have to create new things all the time, but I can re-use what has served me. I have audio recordings that I’ve made for myself that I listen to literally dozens of times. I take great joy in revisiting book passages, quotes, and images. And you? Where you could do something similar in YOUR life. What small letting go would serve you? What break will you give yourself?
