How are you, my friend?
I’m thinking of you on this Friday afternoon and am popping by with a quick hello.
I hope you are having a sweet day so far. If you are, please send good vibes to someone. A smile, cheerful hello, or friendly text can go a long way toward brightening someone’s day.
If you are having a hard time, practice reaching out to someone you love and trust. Practice loving yourself with great intention as you navigate the hard spaces.
We are all here on this journey together. Trust that you are loved and you belong! Trust that your goodness can lift someone out of the dark. Trust your strength when you are feeling down.

I want to share a simple practice with you today. It is a close cousin to my practice of “looking for pinpricks of light.” (Sometimes it helps to have variations on the ways that we name our pick-me-up practices!)
Whenever I lead groups of people in workshops, I like to begin by asking, “Did you see or experience something beautiful this morning?” or “Can you see or experience something beautiful right now?”
This is a very simple way of training our brains to look for and anchor in beauty.
Try it right now! Look up from your phone or computer and look around the room you are in. Or, look out the window!
What beauty can you find? What catches your eye? Hit reply and tell me, if you want! I’d love to hear.

When I look up, I see a cream colored rose with pink blushes around the petals. I see our acacia tree waving cheerfully in the breeze. I hear a bird outside, with a sweet l’il tweet.
Yesterday, when I asked this question in a morning book club on Zoom, someone replied, “My fiddle leaf fig plant!” She rotated her camera to show us her plant and it was beautiful. As well, I was so delighted at the poetic sound of that name! So lyrical!
Someone else said, “The bluebird sky!”
Another person said, “I’m floating in a pool as I’m on this Zoom!”
Later, in my group coaching circle, Michelle held up a brand new and oh-so-colorful pencil. You know what was on the end of that pencil? An axolotl! (Er, plastic, of course! Not a real one!)
I didn’t even know what an axolotl was! They are adorable.
You never know what you will see or experience when you ask yourself — or someone else!— to notice something beautiful.

I send you love today, my friend.
We’re all in this together.
We are all just walking each other home, as Ram Dass said. Let’s look for the beauty on our way, okay?
Thanks for who you are and for your beautiful spirit.
Seek celebration — even in the dark corners,
xo Sherry
✨ P.S. If you are going through a hard time and find it difficult to see beauty right now, I understand. My fellow coach and friend, Shawn Buttner co-hosts a monthly group with me called, “The Hard Stuff is Okay.” We create space for anyone having a hard time with loss, disappointment, discouragement, illness, etc. Our group takes place within the GrowthDay platform — a positive community created by Brendon Burchard and where I work! You don’t have to be a member of GrowthDay to attend, but you will need to create a free account to RSVP.
✨ P.P.S. Look up the facts about axolotl. They never grow up and so they live underwater their whole lives. They can regrow almost any part of their body, including their heart or brain. They are native to only one place on earth! AND, they are sometimes covered with glittery gold speckles!
✨ P.P.P.S. Special thanks to Michelle for introducing me to the magic of the axolotl; it made my day!
