Dear Delightful You,
Hello my friend!
It has been raining like crazy here in San Francisco. Yesterday, the sun finally came out. But, as that ole song goes, “here comes the rain again.” Today is dreary and gray again.
There’s something about sunshine and light that seem to immediately life our spirits, doesn’t it? Sadly, we don’t have any control over that outer weather.
Thankfully, we can make some choices about what’s brewing or blowing around inside us.

Maybe you listened to my Sunday LoveGram last week when I talked about dancin’ in the rain?
I’ve been thinking about that clichΓ© saying a lot lately.
Sometimes things swirl around outside like a storm. It can feel like a tornado of terrible news. What can we do?
Finding a moment of joy within hard times can not only give us a moment of respite, it can also be great for our nervous system.
If we can metaphorically “dance in the rain,” if we can rest for a moment in some light, some love, some small celebration, it can help us to re-center ourselves.
We can take a long breath and be in the eye of the hurricane where it is calm. From that place, we are able to make clear decisions. We can help ourselves and others from a place of strength.
I’m not saying this is easy. I’m not trying to toss Pollyanna band-aids at you. I’m not saying that a moment of celebration will save the world.
But what I am saying, is that understanding we have some agency over our thought patterns and our emotions will help us to become stronger, more resilient, more supportive of others, and more clear-headed.
I think this is a gift to the world. Yep, it is a moment of peace we can offer to anyone around us β and mostly, to ourselves.

What does that look like for you right now? If you look around at your life in this one small slice of the day, where is the resting place of joy in your heart?
Can you find it? Can you bask in in? Can you let it guide you to the next action that will support you, your family, your community, or the world as a whole?
Sometimes, when we are feeling peace or joy, the universe whispers wisdom to us.

Listen, my friend: you are not alone.
We’re all in this together.
I’m here with you.
Each of us can do our best to bring ourselves βand othersβ a tiny bit of joy, no matter what.
Think of yourself as a tiny blade of grass, pushing through a crack in the cement.
Seek the light.
Seek celebration β even in the dark corners,
xo Sherry
