How are you, my friend?

I just discovered that we have a super fun holiday coming up this week: Book Lovers Day! It is Friday, August 9th!

Are you excited? Woot woot!

💥💓💥

I am wondering if you might be willing to celebrate with me?

I have an idea. To be transparent, it is a self-serving idea. [insert aghast face here!] But wait, I think it will serve others, too!

Yep, it is an idea that will help me try to keep my book baby, “Say It Now” in print and stocked at Amazon. In this world where everything has to be shiny and new, it is a true effort to keep our middle-aged books in stock!

However, it is also an idea that I hope will make YOU feel good inside because it will also make a STRANGER happy. And also, that stranger will then make someone ELSE happy.

It’s a rollercoaster of JOY!

Maybe I’d better explain!

💥💓💥

For Book Lover Day, would you be willing to spend $15 to order a copy of “Say it Now” to then LEAVE it in a Little Free Library near you?

Do you know what a Little Free Library is? They are those cute wooden boxes on stands that people put in front of their houses or in front of stores in the neighborhood.

I have one outside my house and I LOVE what a great invitation it is to talk to neighbors. Usually anytime I walk out of the house, there are a few people out there, looking for a great book to take and read.

Many people also drop off their used books so other people can enjoy them.

It is a brilliant idea — someone’s else’s, not mine — that you can learn more about by clicking here for the official Little Free Library organization

It is such a joy for me to know that books are being recirculated and re-read and re-enjoyed in this wonderful and simple way!

💥💓💥

So, now do you see how your $15 to buy a copy of Say it Now will help me by keeping my book in print?

Then it will help someone who finds it in a Little Free Library where you leave it. Maybe that person has been wondering how to tell someone what they mean to them? Maybe that person would love the creative joy of expressing love in a fun way? They’ll use the book YOU left them to do just that.

And THEN, someone that person loves will receive a meaningful and creative gift — just because YOU were willing to pop over to Amazon today and buy a copy.

Oh, if you don’t like Amazon, you could also buy a copy at this wonderful book store — BookShop.org

If you order today, you should have your book in hand by Friday. But if you don’t, no sweat. I’m sure whomever receives your “Happy Book Lovers Day” book will be thrilled even if the holiday has passed. (And believe it or not, some people may not even know the date!)

💥💓💥

What? You say don’t know of any Little Free Libraries near you? In that case, you could celebrate and help me and surprise a couple strangers all in one fell swoop by ordering a copy and donating it to your local high school, Community Center, or library!

You could even create your own little “Pop-Up” Little Free Library by leaving the copy of the book someplace warm and dry with a note on it, “Happy Book Lovers Day! This book is for the finder! Love from a stranger who loves books and who loves to express love!”

A cafe could be a great place to leave a book. Or maybe in public restroom at the park? In the locker room at the gym?

💥💓💥

Thanks for helping me help other people to find creative ways to express their love. This is my life’s mission and my book will be so grateful to you for helping her live on!

You are a gift to me.

I love you and am cheering you on, always.

Be gentle. Be kind. Be strong. Read books! Give books!

Thanks for who you are.

Seek celebration — even in the dark corners,

xo Sherry

📚 P.S. No matter where you leave your Happy Book Lovers Day copy of Say it Now, please know that you are leaving a smile on MY path. In fact, I really hope you will email me to tell me your experience. That way I can give you a virtual hug! I appreciate you so much!
