How are you, my friend?
I’m back from my meditation retreat and I’m thinking of you today. I hope you are doing well and feeling at peace within yourself. And if you aren’t, I hope that you will find some extra kindness for yourself or that you will reach out for help from someone you love.
We all go through ups and downs. Just hang in there if you are in a “down!” And offer a hand to someone if you are in an “up!”
Sending hugs and love on this Friday morn.

A text message from my mom inspired me to send you this simple, but meaningful gift idea!
Her text said, “Fun is finding a new book in the mail box.”
I’d sent my mom a book in the mail and she obviously had just received it!
Coincidentally, just a day later, I also received a book in the mail — from my mom! And you know what? It WAS fun!
💥💓💥
It’s true, isn’t it? It is a lot of fun to get a book in the mail and know that someone had chosen it just for you.
It’s fun to find a “real” package instead of just the bills and junk mail that mostly come in the post.
Sending someone a book is a great gift.
However, we can take this gift one step further — and here’s where the real connection grows — read that same book yourself and then set up a video “Book Club” with the other person.
(Of course, if you live in the same town, you can do an in-person coffee!)
No matter where or how you meet, you can each show up with your favorite tea and some treats, if you want.
Imagine! Instead of having just a regular ole call where you share the latest news or whatnot, you can talk about the book!
You can share what you liked or didn’t like about the book. You can talk about favorite twists of plot or unexpected happenings. You can tell who your favorite characters were and why!
Doesn’t this sound like it would add some joy to a friend or family member in your life? And to YOU?
Nurturing our relationships means we are willing to go the extra mile. (As it turns out, the walk to the post office is exactly a mile for me! Ha-ha!)
💥💓💥
Speaking of joy — thanks for being a joyful presence in my life.
You are a gift to me.
I love you and am cheering you on, always.
Be gentle. Be kind. Be strong. Read books!
Thanks for who you are.
Seek celebration — even in the dark corners,
xo Sherry
✨ P.S. Look around right now. What do you see that has a little sparkle or feels kinda “lit up?” Hold that pinprick of light in your heart and let it warm you. This simple practice will change your life! We can teach our brains to look for the light! (I see two tiny birds twittering outside as they enjoy the bird seed i just put out for them. They sound so happy!)
