I've been lying low the past number of weeks. The combination of a life-changing Zen retreat and the death of my grandmother have left me rather speechless. Extraordinarily quiet. Listening.

When I returned a few days ago — from the trip back East for the funeral — I saw this artwork and Mary Oliver line from my beautiful friend/adopted big Sis, Joanie. It felt like such a gift. It instantly quieted all the internal monkey mind chatter about how I SHOULD be and all the things I should be DOING.

"And who will care, who will chide you if you wander away from wherever you are, to look for your soul?" Ahhhhhhh, yes, yes. yes.

Thank you, wonderful Joanie. (And Mary Oliver!)

Maybe today I'll wander into my book of Mary Oliver poems. How about you? Where do you go to look for your soul?
