LoveGram: Breadcrumbs of Love

12-06-2020

Hello, friend.

Here we are, side by side. Still navigating these crazy, upside down times.

I’m just coming to terms with the sad fact that I will not be with my mom this holiday season.

Every year my whole San Francisco clan flies to Ohio for a couple weeks. Last year, I spent six weeks there. We host the “Holiday Hoopla” and create amazing memories that fuel us all year long. (It’s an experience we give in lieu of material gifts — a themed day of fun activities, games, and food!)

I’m letting myself feel the sadness and the loss. AND, I also want to lead myself into a place of taking comfort in knowing that love does not require physical presence.

On a coaching call yesterday, a client used the metaphor of being a conductor. How we can choose to wave our baton for parts of us inside us who may need to be shown the way. The “conductor self” is the best, most loving, most energetic part of us who can coax the music from the parts of us who are less certain or who may not believe it is possible.

To mix metaphors — because why not … everything’s crazy and nonsensical anyway! — I want the conductor YOU to sprinkle breadcrumbs of love in the path in front of you.

I want you to create a path of love, connection, and celebration. I want you to be the one in your clan who intentionally brings the joy and laughter this holiday season.

Will you do that?

In today’s audio Love Gram I give you one simple idea that is sure to connect you to someone you love and miss.

In my most recent article in Kind Over Matter, Long Distance Love, I give some other very simple ways to connect and celebrate — with joy and creativity!

It is my mission in life to support you (and me!!) in connecting with and celebrating people in our lives — let’s be creative and intentional together!

Let’s not let this pandemic steal our joy. We can grieve and love at the very same time.

Today’s LoveGram is posted here.

Scroll down on that page to find the audio.

Never forget: we’re all just walking each other home. And along the way, we can do our best to remember that we can show up for the people we love. We can support them through this. We can offer celebration and connection, even from afar.

Make your breadcrumb trail! Wave your conductor baton!

Thanks for being by my side.

I’m here for you, too.

I send you that feeling of looking up and seeing cotton candy stripes against the morning sky. I send you the smell of cinnamon toast. I send you that feeling when your heart swells with gratitude and love.

Seek celebration — even in dark corners,

xo Sherry

🔆 P.S. If you don’t yet have a copy of my book, “Say it Now,” this is a great time to purchase it and USE it! For less than $10, you get 33 amazing creative (not crafty) gift ideas that you can start using right away for the holidays. If you already own the book, would you consider buying it for a friend as a way to spread the message of meaningful gifts + celebration? It would matter so much to me!

🔆  P.P.S. I felt so connected to you and excited while making today’s audio LoveGram. Afterward, when I was spot checking the recording, I noticed that there were a few places where the audio got soft. I’ve tried to fix it in Garageband. I’m sorry if it feels a tad choppy, but I PROMISE you that this message is an essential one as we head into the holidays. Most of the audio should be just fine. Please forgive the glitches!

🔆  P.P.P.S. If you create a Love List or Love Letter like I mention, email me and let me know how it goes!
