Happy Saturday!

Some of you may be participating in Operation Love, a mission of Secret Agents of Change. (If so, you will recognize poet Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer in the pic up above!)
Rosemerry and I are hosting a delightful 7-Day Challenge that is easy + fun.

Every day, our Secret Agents receive a video of Rosemerry reading a poem and then I offer a prompt that is a companion to the poem. The prompts are acts of kindness/love in the world AND there is double agent prompt of a way to love yourself.

These are internal and external gifts that we can give, which are simple and no-cost!

(Remember gifts don’t always have to be tangible items wrapped up in a bow!)
Today’s poem is one of my favorites.

I wanted to share it here, with you, as I’m sipping my morning coffee, in the hopes that even though you may not be participating officially in Operation Love, perhaps on this Saturday you will choose to at least LISTEN to Rosemerry’s poem and to the prompt and let it wash over you with love.

I want you to hear the part about giving YOURSELF a standing ovation.

Do not rush on by this, okay?

I especially want you, while you are listening to the poem, to think about some places in your life where you have been giving your very best — where you have been loving, where you have been trying, where you have been practicing something new. Think about the patience you bring to your children or spouse. Think about learning to play the guitar. Think about starting a new job and being overwhelmed. Think about attempting to eat more healthfully.

Please find at least one place in your life where you deserve some appreciation. And give it to yourself.

Now.

Don’t wait.

Fast forward in the video to one minute, which is the place where Rosemerry reads the poem + then I give the prompt. Then listen, and go from there. This won’t take very long, but I know it will impact your day in a big way!

I mean this, my friend.

Do not believe that you don’t have two minutes to listen to a poem and appreciate yourself.

It ain’t true!

It is such a complete JOY to hear a poet read their work. And to interact with a poem in a practical way that is so very simple.

Give this to yourself.

This act of kindness for someone else, and the one for you, will literally take you just minutes. And yep, they will feel like GIFTS. I promise.

(Have I ever lied to you?)

I think you’ll want to participate — even just for the day!
If you want to report back, here is the official Facebook Group.

Or, you can post in the comments on YouTube

I’d love to hear what you think of this poem and how you gift yourself today!!
